My socio-political awareness

Yes, during my late childhood and and early young days I was inclined to the thoughts of the socialist or communistic way of thinking. I dreamt of the equal distribution of the wealth and resources of the whole earth among each and every occupant of it. But as I was grown up, I became more aware of the realities of life, and the futility and false implementation of these socialistic theories where “some animals became more equal than the others” (Animal Farm). Through observation and experience I found out that in a socialistic society it’s members often lose their motivation to work for the whole group, while in a capitalist society it is high while he is working for himself. Capitalism may have it’s drawbacks but I find it the best for the time being.

As I reflect on my past inclinations towards socialist or communistic ideologies, I find it crucial to acknowledge the evolution of my perspectives. The notion of equal distribution of wealth and resources across the globe once resonated deeply within me, encapsulating a sense of justice and fairness. However, the passage of time has allowed me to gain a more nuanced understanding of the sociopolitical landscape. The realisation of the flawed implementation of socialist ideals, reminiscent of George Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” where some individuals become more equal than others, has been a pivotal turning point in my ideological journey.

Embracing the bounties of experience and introspection, I’ve recognised a distinct pattern within socialistic societies where members often struggle to maintain their intrinsic motivation to work for the collective good. Conversely, the capitalist framework appears to fuel a heightened sense of individual drive and ambition. Despite acknowledging the imperfections within capitalism, I have gradually gravitated towards recognising it as the most pragmatic system at present. It’s a system that, despite its drawbacks, seems to effectively harness the intrinsic motivations of individuals as they work towards their personal aspirations and goals, ultimately contributing to the greater economic landscape.
