Here’s the classic fable of “The Foolish Lion and the Clever Rabbit”.
Once upon a time, in a vast forest, many animals coexisted. However, a wicked lion arrived, terrorising everyone. This lion was ruthless, killing other animals even when he wasn’t hungry. The forest inhabitants were dwindling in numbers due to his relentless hunting.
The animals devised a clever plan. They approached the lion and said, “Our king, your constant hunting will soon lead to our extinction. We propose an arrangement: stay in your den, and we’ll send you one animal each day as your food.”
The lion agreed, relieved that he no longer needed to venture out for meals. The animals dutifully sent one creature daily for the lion to devour. Soon, it was the turn of a tiny rabbit. Terrified, the rabbit pondered how to escape the lion’s jaws.
The rabbit had a brilliant idea. He led the lion to an old well and said, “Your majesty, that lion lives inside this well.” The foolish lion peered into the well, mistaking his own reflection for another lion. He roared loudly, and the echo amplified his fury. In a fit of rage, the lion leaped into the well and drowned.
And so, the clever rabbit outwitted the greedy lion, ensuring the safety of all the forest animals. From then on, they lived happily, free from the lion’s tyranny.
Moral of the story: Intelligence and wisdom can triumph over brute strength. 🐇🦁
