The Leaning Tower of Pisa, located in the Italian city of Pisa, is an iconic attraction that has captured the imagination of people around the world for centuries. Its distinct tilt, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure’s weight, makes it a unique and intriguing architectural wonder. The construction of the tower began in 1173 and took place in three stages over a period of about 177 years, finally reaching completion in 1372. The tower’s tilt has increased over time and numerous efforts have been made to stabilise and preserve this beloved monument. Today, visitors from all corners of the globe come to marvel at this fascinating structure, taking photos as they appear to prop up or “hold up” the leaning tower, creating memorable and often humorous images. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is truly a testament to human achievement and perseverance, standing as a symbol of architectural ambition and the ability to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges.
The Leaning Tower will be my next destination next summer as it is near my current residence. I am eager to learn about the local culture, enjoy delicious Italian cuisine, and of course, marvel at the impressive architecture of the Leaning Tower, and take some stunning photos that I can share with all my friends.

Didn’t I read not so long ago that the tilt is increasing alarmingly quickly & they’re keeping people further away?
Yes,, during the restoration work tourists were not allowed in the tower. But now you are allowed to enter the tower.
Really! That’s good news. When I was reading about it they were afraid they weren’t going to be able to keep it erect!
