The Golden Bird, Grimm’s Fairy Tales

I am trying to tell you the story of The Golden Bird from Grimm’s Fairy Tales in detail. Here is a summary of the plot:
• A king has a tree that bears golden apples, but every night one apple is stolen. He sends his three sons of his gardener to watch the tree, one by one. The youngest son sees a golden bird that takes the apple and shoots an arrow at it, wounding it and getting one of its feathers. He brings the feather to the king, who wants to have the whole bird.

• The eldest son sets off to find the bird, but he ignores the advice of a fox that he meets on the way. He goes to a merry tavern instead of a dull one, and forgets his quest. The same happens to the second son. The youngest son follows the fox’s advice and avoids the temptations of the tavern, the castle, and the princess. He finds the bird in a wooden cage, but he also sees a golden cage and swaps them, thinking it would be better for the bird. The bird makes a loud noise and wakes up the guards, who capture the son and take him to the king. The king spares his life on the condition that he brings him the golden horse that is the speediest to ride on.

• The son sets off again, following the fox’s advice. He finds the horse in a stable, but he also sees a golden saddle and swaps them, thinking it would be better for the horse. The horse makes a loud noise and wakes up the guards, who capture the son and take him to the king. The king spares his life on the condition that he brings him the princess from the golden castle.

• The son sets off again, following the fox’s advice. He finds the princess in the castle, but he allows the Princess to go to her parents, the King and the Queen to say farewell, thinking it would be better for her. The ring makes a loud noise and wakes up the guards, who capture the son and take him to the king. The king spares his life on the condition that he removes a big mountain near the palace of the king.

• The son removes the small mountain with the help of the fox, who also helps him to get the bird, the horse, and the cage. He is on the way to his father’s kingdom, but he is betrayed by his brothers and pushed down into a deep river, who take the bird, the horse, and the princess and tell the king that they found them. The son gets help from the fox, who reveals himself to be the brother of the princess. He tells the son to turn him into a human again by cutting off his head and feet. The son does so, and the fox becomes a handsome prince. They go to the king’s castle, where the bird, the horse, and the princess recognise the son as their true master. The king realises his mistake and gives his blessing to the son and the princess, who get married and live happily ever after.
