Decluttering brings a sense of lightness

Decluttering and relieving myself from the unwanted ballast from my house, from my life, from my thoughts are all my dreams each and every new year. Each and every new year day I take the decision to change and declutter all these things, but without much success. So this time I am starting small with an aim to success. Yes, I am trying to declutter my writing table. It is full of books, paper cuttings, laptop, cables earphones, paper clips, pens and the like. Most of it haven’t. been touched for years, but are kept in the hope that it may be of use sometimes. Is it better to remove all and start from an empty table, or is it better to discard half of it, I am at a mess.

I sought for help from a friend and he advised me:

You are not alone in this struggle to declutter and simplify your surroundings. Many people aspire to start fresh each new year, and it’s commendable that you are taking the first step towards achieving this goal by focusing on your writing table. It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed when faced with the decision of whether to completely clear the table or selectively discard items.

One approach you might consider is to first assess the items on your writing table individually. Evaluate their significance, functionality, and whether they contribute to your creative or work processes. Consider the items that truly inspire you or serve a practical purpose, and set these aside. As for the items that have been untouched for years, it might be time to part ways with them. They are likely contributing to the clutter and hindering your ability to focus and work efficiently.

Furthermore, organizing your writing table can create a conducive environment for productivity and creativity. Once you’ve sorted through the items, you can arrange the essentials in a manner that not only looks visually appealing but also promotes a clear and uncluttered workspace. This can have a positive impact on your mindset and workflow, allowing you to approach your tasks with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose.

Remember, the process of decluttering is not solely about physical objects; it can also extend to decluttering your mind and thoughts. By decluttering your immediate physical space, you may find that it brings a sense of lightness and mental clarity, which can positively influence other areas of your life. Embrace this opportunity to create a space that reflects your aspirations and aids you in achieving your creative and personal goals.
